Purchasing / Supply Chain Manager

We are looking for an experienced, cost-conscious Purchasing Manager to take over our purchasing operations and be in-charge of company-wide services and material procurement and the primary point of contact between Sigfox and its suppliers in North America.  The ideal candidate will have experience in the telecommunications industry and who can institute innovative policies to save the company money and improve our product quality. 

Using superb analytical skills, this Purchasing Manager will identify potential suppliers, screen them, and negotiates favorable rates and prices, and payment terms with selected suppliers.  After formalizing the supply contract with the aid of legal professionals, the Purchasing Manager then monitors supplier performance to ensure contractual obligations are met and to help make the supply procurement process as cost-effective and efficient as possible.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

  • Follow Sigfox Purchasing processes & policy in place and ensure that all purchases in USA adhere to it.  
  • Work in strong liaison with other departments, particularly the accounting, logistic, deployment departments and report to the US Network Director based in USA & to the Purchasing Director based in France.
  • Develop, implement and monitor purchasing strategies in support of overall Sigfox objectives.
  • Conduct national supply market analysis.
  • Seek & audit reliable vendors/suppliers to provide quality goods at reasonable prices.

 

Cost Analysis & Negotiation:

  • Analyze cost structures and develop better pricing models
  • Partner with Superintendents, Estimators, and Project Managers to ensure a complete scope of work is defined

 

Suppliers Relationships & Performance Monitoring

  • Negotiate best Terms & Conditions and manage any Frame Agreements between the suppliers and Sigfox North America
  • Vendor performance Management: Establish a Supplier Scorecards for all services and products (KPIs)
  • Responsible for providing financial analysis, research, reporting, and consulting guidance to manage supplier relationships

 

Purchasing Process & Reporting:

  • Produce and maintain all Purchasing reports (with KPIs), forecasting and variance reporting.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders and purchase requisitions, and maintain documentation of the acquisition of goods.
  • Streamline current manual processes and automate the entire Procurement process 
  • Standardize & automate Procurement processes (including requisitioning, spot sourcing and purchaser-order creation)

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Purchasing or Supply Chain Management, MBA preferred.
  • 5-10 years’ experience in procurement or purchasing in the telecom/wireless industry
  • 5-10 years’ experience in a supply chain, purchasing, warehousing, planning and/or purchasing capacity
  • Results orientated with strong negotiation and leadership skills
  • Must have a strong understanding of math, as well as excellent analytical skills.
  • Extensive knowledge in Microsoft Office including but not limited to; Word, Power-Point, Excel and Access programs

 

KEY SKILLS

  • Experience with purchasing program software – working knowledge with SAP solutions is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate, communicate, and implement short and long-term strategies for commodities, components and services.
  • Understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement, including supplier base, general industry information and cost drivers.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills – PMP preferred
  • Relevant Capital Project Procurement experience (>$10MM project size) or related category subject matter expert (SME).
  • Working knowledge of construction contract language and terms.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
